Each of the following sites, demonstrate our application of the core pillars that make up Take Root Bio
Bio Hive
Situated in a former Industrial headquarters, BioHive seeks to breath new life into the area, and pioneer the concept of restoration for green industry and innovation.
Our plans include but are not limited to:
- Vertical farming and symbiotic exploration between traditional/ hydro/ aquaponics
- Agro forestry
- Data monitoring and development of overview systems and data analysis
- Data centre and distribution
- Education (workshops/ courses/ research studies and collaborations)
- Community outreach including services to locals, and small busineses, existing local industry.
Our plans are bold and pioneering, thanks to the support of our backers and partners.
Bio-Mines
We are currently progressing the conversion of two exhausted mines, to become mass-vertical farming and related agri-tech pilot-sites.
Though the use of mines for growing is not a novel concept, we aim to take it further with the use of advanced technology and integrated AI/ automation/ data collection through the testing of our patent-pending products, and research.
Like the BioHive, community and education are key to this site, with local mass layoffs and shrinking industry sparking economic turmoil, we aim to breathe new life into the area with skills training and transition support into this greener/healthier sector.
Our site selection team searches for mines in specific areas, which meet a key criteria and thanks to building information modelling (BIM), data collection and research, demonstrate a higher probability of success.
Bio-Towers
We are just starting this city centre journey, but it is an exciting opportunity. We have been approached to convert several floors of a ‘modern’ building into a multi-story agri-forestry and fruit production facility. Our aim is to expand this remit to be ‘multi-story park and mindfulness space,’ where people and nature can co-exist in an enclosed environment.
